In life we are often faced with situations that will either make us laugh, scream or just want to "die"!
Recently I have been teaching the idea of being in control of how you choose to react to the different situations in life that could otherwise alter whether you have a good day or not!
You are in control of your mindset and how you react is a trigger based on how your mind sees things in that given moment. However there are also times where your reaction is premeditated, for example, when you set off with the intention of confronting someone.
So the other morning I was going about my normal business with a very positive mindset. I set off for the school run and made my way to the office with no problems.
It's only when I got to work and was going to change into my formal shoes I realised that I had made the entire journey with odd shoes on! Oh yes I was shocked, bewildered, couldn't believe that it happened, however I chose to laugh it off.
Why? For the simple fact that I realised my shoes did not form an important part of my day. It was essential that I wore shoes of course, but that was not what would determine the flow of results during my day.
Often times in our lives we choose the wrong mindset for otherwise simple things. We build mountains out of mole hills, they say!
Adopting a focused mindset that prioritises what really matters to be the fuel for a successful day, project, meeting etc, will help you get better results.
Everyday you wake up I challenge you to start by giving thanks and speaking positive affirmations into your day. That however won't prevent negative things happening in your day but how you choose to start should be how you proceed! Facing those negatives with a positive mindset and taking away lessons from ALL situations.
A few years ago I would have taken my accidentally wearing odd shoes as a very negative thing and spent the rest of the day feeling embarrased and possibly dreading having to make the journey back home.
My mind would have run with this throughout my day and prevented me from seeing the positive things around me. I held onto the wrong things for too long and missed the good things.
What positive things could possibly come out of wearing the wrong shoes you say? Well, my wearing odd shoes created a lot more conversations, acceptance that some things are not that serious, awakened innovative minds and most importantly made people laugh!
Laughter is the best medicine!
So decide to have a positive mindset in all situations and even in difficult situations you will always focus on what will help you move forward and grow.
Don't take things too seriously, someone met the love of their life because they accidentally spilt a cup of coffee over him and he chose not to take it seriously.
2018 Started with a bang and I ran my first quarter workshop. S.O.L.O Live 20.01.2018. The intimate setting of the workshop allowed the session to flow as if it were a discussion amongst friends. It didn't take long before everyone in attendance was relaxed and ready to go!
A lot of powerful information and nuggets were shared all round and I can confidently say everyone took away something new from the session.
We discussed a few different concepts during the session with a focus on moving into our action focused state in order to actively start pursuing our goals and fulfilling our lives.
The ladies who attended th workshop were positive challenged during the day as this workshop was designed to ask those uncomfortable questions in order to tackle the mentality that arises from giving power to the limiting beliefs that slow us down or stop us from living our full purpose.
The big question I ask during the workshop and will continue to make this a big focus is, "who are you and what do you do?".
